I started my Scouting at Thurnby in 1956 (in the old Scout Hut)and I am still active although in an administrative capacity. I am Chairman of the Tullibody Scout Group and District Treasurer for the Clackmannanshire District Scout Council. For the less informed they are both in Scotland where I now live. This year I will have completed 54 years of Scouting and I only intended helping with the Thurnby Cubs for 18 months. I was allowed a break of 2 weeks in 1966 when I became a City Councillor.
I think I became the first Chairman of the N.E. Leicester District Scout Council after a longish session as Chairman of East District. I left Leicester when I was married and moved to London and then Scotland. By the way, is anyone going to Blair Atholl this year? If so I might see you as I shall be visiting. | | | | | |
